Mallorca 2026 - ATP 250 Preview

(21 - 27 June) One of the fastest courts on tour — but hotter and higher-bouncing than Halle or Queen's. Why Mallorca's grass rewards players who arrive early enough to adapt.

Weather

Mallorca is expected to have a classic summer week: mostly sunny skies, very little chance of rain, light to moderate sea breezes, and hot temperatures. Daytime highs should generally range between 30–36°C (86–97°F), with the hottest days early in the week and slightly lower temperatures later on. Overnight lows will be around 20–24°C (68–75°F). Humidity will be moderate to high, especially near the coast, making it feel a bit warmer at times, while winds should generally stay in the 10–25 km/h (6–16 mph) range.

Player's quotes

Darderi, 2026: "Mallorca is a place where I’ve felt comfortable from the very first moment. The atmosphere, the language, and the cultural affinity make it special for me. I’m really looking forward to playing here again."

Djere, 2025: "It's quite hot but I feel I'm quite used to it. There's a bit of breeze so it's not bad."

Mannarino, 2023: "The playing conditions are really not good. The surface is really very bad, to put it mildly, it's just about managing it by all the time. Suddenly, it is difficult to engage in strikes due to all the bad bounces.”

Bonzi, 2022: “The grass is faster (than in Germany), and the bounce is also higher,.”

Ivanisevic, 2021, about Djokovic: “IMO, we should not be playing the tournament because the grass at Wimbledon is very different compared to one in Mallorca”

Sevastova, 2018: “I like this court, I like the conditions here because it’s hot and the ball jumps good for me. I enjoy playing here. The grass is a little bit faster, the ball is flying, it’s hotter. It’s a bit different than Wimbledon. I like that it’s like a holiday feeling.”

Garcia, 2016: "I have to say that the grass here is drier than it usually is in England. The ball is bouncing higher, especially on my second serve."

Summary

It is one of the fastest tournaments on the circuit, as the numbers show.

However, it should be noted that the conditions of the grass in Mallorca is different from those in Halle and Queen's.

As several players have stated, it is hotter in Mallorca, and the ball bounces higher than in Halle and Queen's, which are characterized by more humid and rainy weather, even at this time of year. Just notice that pllayers like Griekspoor and Tabilo have won the tournament in the last couple of years.

This can be important in the sense that players who played this week in Halle and London will notice a change in conditions, even though it is grass. So it's better if you have time to adapt.
