Brussels 2026 - ATP 250 Preview

(19 - 25 October) Brussels has only one edition behind it, but the 2025 numbers are hard to ignore: only Stuttgart on grass saw a higher % of first-serve points won. Expect short points and a draw where the serve decides more than anywhere else indoors.

2025 was the first year the BNP Paribas Fortis European Open was held in Brussels, after nine years in Antwerp.

That means we have only one year of data for the tournament in Brussels.

The event is played on indoor hard courts.

Speed data

Here are the average statistics from 2025:

  • 76.7% of points won on the first serve
  • 88.6% Service Hold
  • 0.76 aces/game
  • 0.39 TBs/set

It’s only one season of data, but these figures suggest that Brussels offers some of the fastest conditions on the ATP Tour. By first-serve points won, only Stuttgart on grass was faster in 2025.

Past Winners

2025: Auger-Alliassime d. Lehecka

Players' Quotes

Musetti, 2025: "The conditions weren't easy, because the court is very fast and it's not, let's say, ideal for my game."

"There weren’t many rallies. In this kind of match, serving and returning are the keys."

Bonzi, 2025: “The conditions are completely different from Shanghai, which was much slower. Here, the serve is far more effective.”

Weather

Brussels is expected to be cool and mostly cloudy next week, with highs of 13–15°C (55–60°F) and lows of 7–10°C (45–50°F). Rain or showers are possible in the first days of the week. Humidity is forecast to be around 65–75% through the week.

Summary

In 2025, only Stuttgart on grass had a higher percentage of first-serve points won than Brussels.

Last year’s semifinalists were Mpetshi Perricard, Lehecka, Collignon and Auger-Aliassime, all powerful servers.

The serve is likely to be more important here than at almost any other tournament on the ATP Tour. Big servers and flat, aggressive hitters should therefore be well suited to these conditions.
